Meditations
One of the works dealing with the mythological figures of Latvia. With fingers extended like claws, the boy is representing the devil, often described in Latvian literature as sitting in a tree and lurking on his pray. Yet through symbols such as the Nike hat and the expressionistic technique reminding of modern digital distortion techniques puts the old descriptions in a modern context.

The Entrance
The painting reveals a mix of confusion, fear and a slight exhaustion, yet confidence about the future and entering the unknown and moving forward.

Collage like elements combine a rather tropical environment from places around the globe revealing a form of escapism. Capturing the bliss of summer, but also revealing both connectedness and detachment between the subjects themselves and reality in general.
